Port Gamble and Port Townsend

Since the weather forecast looked phenomenal, we decided to explore the Olympic Peninsula. We took the ferry from Edmond to Kingston and made a quick stop in Port Gamble for a leisurely lunch and checked out the dahlias. The PNW makes it look easy.

Our buddies MaliMish Dan and Marlene were camped for the week up at the Moose lodge in Port Townsend. Another pro tip from the MaliMish gang – Moose and Elks lodge camping. They are members of both, and can usually grab a spot in a great location for ten or fifteen bucks a night. And, it’s tax deductible since it’s technically a “donation.” They’ve been coaxing us into joining the club, but I think we’ve decided it’s better to just have friends that can get you in as a guest.

Our buddies Kerri and Tim were here too, along with the Campendium gang Lee and Brian. We’re getting used to the travel-buddy caravan idea. Bode is loving it and spent the entire week on his sweet new bike Jim and Jen gave to him the week before. “It feels like it’s a part of my body!”

Even Dan couldn’t resist a quick lap around the campground.
