Homer Camping

The Homer Spit is a 5-6 mile long sand bar, jutting out into the Pacific Ocean. We saw most of the touristy stuff in a day, and camping out here was getting really full and expensive over the weekend. We decided to head up into the town of Homer. There is a cheap city campground which overlooks the spit. But the best part, was that it was next door to a large city playground, where Bode spent a couple hours a day with new friends.

We also took advantage of the great local library as well.

As someone who aspires towards your type of lifestyle, I must ask…is that another bad caliper? Should I be thinking of a more modern type of vehicle for my future bus hobo life? Dodge Caravan? Subaru Outback? Maybe some of the other bus people out there have an opinion?

It was a leaking caliper piston. We were able to order a ‘rebuild kit’ from the FLAPS (!) and fix it on the beach with minimal tools and cursing.
