Puffins
Always eager to see wildlife up close, we visited the Alaska Sealife Center. More a research and rehabilitation center than aquarium, this place was a great spot to watch injured sea lions and sea otters. Bode got to get a close up glimpse of his current favorite bird: the puffin.
Later we strolled through the historic downtown area of Seward. A spot of shopping and then lunch inside a school bus. Bode loved it.
We ended the day back in Hope. There was live music that night at the Sea View, so we thought we’d check it out. Lodging is a little difficult in this small town, but we managed a cabin that included an impressive 5 course gourmet dinner and free use of the paddle boats. Can’t beat that.
The Sea View was packed for the show, so we just took our own drinks out for a hike by the river before settling outside to enjoy the tunes. Bode quickly tired of the scene and preferred to just sit back and finish his book – on top of the bus.
Haven’t seen a post in awhile, hoping all is well and you are just traveling. You are being thought of and I will just keep checking. All the best!
All good – just enjoying ourselves and ignoring as many ‘responsibilities’ as possible 😉
