Calafate

Finally, in El Calafate we were able to gas up the VW’s and motorcycles without a problem.

The town is overly touristy.  The ratio of hiking boots and North Face gear outnumbers the locals by a good 20 to 1.

We stayed in a cabin for a couple nights, which worked out great. Aside from everyone getting to clean up and dry out, it meant Simon and MC could use the oven and continue to make awesome food.  How do you cut homemade cinnamon rolls? With dental floss!

Simon, Paul and the resident wiener dog, Pancho joined Bode in an all-out army battle.

And, at the local museum Bode re-kindled a complete fear of life-sized dinosaurs sticking out of a wall that he had developed when he was four back at Wall Drug.

but I also saw Jason’s dopppleganger in Lamar, CO on the 15th. it was a bit of a shock and I was on the road again when I made the connection.
