Isla Santiago and Isla Bartolomé
We had 5 new shipmates as of today, 2 of which were a Russian couple. I knew they were not what I’d call social when they looked away from me and didn’t reply when I said ‘hola’, and when I heard someone else ask their name and they turned around and walked away.
Within about an hour, this guy had hugged a sea lion, grabbed and ridden a sea turtle and stepped on an iguana. Between all this, his lady friend got uncomfortably close to any living animal she could, and posed like a playmate. The kicker was his bathing suit. I couldn’t get a photo of the front, which was pretty awesome, but below you can see the pig’s ass.
We did get some good ideas for how to pose in front of beautiful scenery though, and ruined many a good shot with our antics.
The mockingbird is extremely curious, and will hop right up to you. Just after I got up close to snap this photo, the guide told us how they will hop on your shoulder and when you turn to look at them they peck your eyes! And, they’ll suck the water out of a turtle egg, killing the baby. Vicious, adorable creatures.

Please explain the picture on the bathing suit. I need to know because I keep trying to figure it out. Hopefully, once I know what it is, I can put it out of my mind and never have to picture it again.
The rear is literally a pig’s ass with curly tail. The front is the pig’s face and a perfectly centered snout. It’s actually more obnoxious than it sounds.
That bathing suit is more than mildly disturbing – perhaps it was the only one he had and it put him in a bad mood. Lovely to see you all enjoying life so!
