Voglers Cove to Ingonish

It rained all night and was still rainy when we packed up our stuff and put it back in the bus. It was two hours to the airport, but we stopped at a recommended seaside restaurant in Chester so Mom could get one last lobster roll. Luckily, she decided to also have dessert, a delicious blueberry grunt with ice cream. After we dropped her at the Halifax airport, she was delayed 2 hours, then another couple of hours at Newark, before getting back to Houston past midnight (3 AM Nova Scotia time) with only a granola bar and some water.

I thought we had a long day afterwards, but not compared to her. I hope her trip was worth it! We drove north to Cape Breton. No real stops, just rain, rain and more rain. It was 9 hours total in the bus that day. But, in the end, we pulled up to the campsite next to Dan, Marlene and family. It was still raining, so we all squeezed into the truck camper. The kids on the upper bed playing Minecraft, the adults at the dinette with beers discussing what we’d done over the last week.
