Salem Witches

Bode has been wanting to go to Salem, MA ever since the day he read about it in his U.S. history book. You might think that it’s just a silly attraction, but witch-hunts and scapegoating are still just as relevant today as they were back then. Road-school lessons to be learned here.

Naturally, we dropped into the local national historic site and cranked through a Junior Ranger book and earned a new badge. Road-school double credit.

We also stumbled upon  and wandered through Patrick Dougherty’s “Stickwork” piece. Pretty cool.

We blinked and missed New Hamsphire, but found a hidden gem of capsite and the local city park near Freeport, Maine. No reservations,  waterfront.
