Descending on Bend

Way back in Alaska, a few people asked us if we were going to Descend on Bend. Wha? Okay. We put it on our mental calendar just in case.

Sure enough, we were in Oregon right on schedule.

First, we had to drop in an see Gary and Evelyn – we met these guys six years ago (and again in Arizona at BBB). Super nice folks and we had a great time catching up. It seems like we could just keep doing loops and visiting friends while making new ones over and over and over.

We arrived at the super-double-top-secret location for Descend on Bend a day early just so we could check it out and settle in. We were probably the 20th van to arrive.

Before even getting out of the bus, we had already met the entire friendly crew and we knew we would be here a while. Of course, as more and more vans showed up an set up camp around us, there was no possible way we could leave.

This was the second year of the gathering, and a day before it started, Ryan (the organizer) told us it was already bigger than last year.
