Wrapping up B.C.

We crossed back into Canada the same day with no issues. Just a 5 minute border passport check. Then, it was a leisurely drive down the rest of the Cassiar Highway and a free overnight camp in Kitiwanga.

It took us another two days to get to Prince George, where we met up with the MaliMish crew again – this time for Mila’s birthday party and big night in a casino hotel with waterslides!

We turned south and headed towards Kamloops, where we met up with our old travel buddy Kyle. This is his hometown and is doing great and planning a wedding next year.

The weather was getting warmer and we’ve finally ditched the rains, so we decided to take the scenic route through Whistler from here.

We discovered that there’s lots of free lakeside camping around here – provided by the power companies that build the local dams.

We had heard about some hot springs at the south end of Lillooet Lake, so slowly made our way there.

The drive down the lake to Sloquet Hot Springs was pretty awesome. Tiered hot pools all the way down to a chilly river, right below a quiet campsite. We stayed for a couple of nights and enjoyed our last few relaxing days in Canada.

I’ve followed your travels from the beginning and enjoyed reading every one of your blog posts. It’s so cool to see one of my area. I live near Kamloops and have been over the Duffy Lake road to Sloquet hot springs and Pemberton camping in my Westy many times. In 2014 I drove my Westy cross Canada and to the east coast US to see the Atlantic, 10,430 kms. Please keep the awesome posts, they are an inspiration to the rest of us.
