Columbia Glacier

The Columbia Icefield is the largest ice field in the Rockies, and feeds eight major glaciers. The Columbia Glacier is easily accessible by foot.

Bode was more interested in all the rock stacking along the hike than the glacier itself. He actually got quite good at it, but we’ll have to keep that skill in Canada, as it is now illegal in Boulder.

Neat, the last time I was there they had so many Japanese bus tourists at the Icefields Center it was like a Tokyo train station, but if you walked for two minutes you were pretty much on your own.

(Holy cow that was 20 years ago, I may need to get back there…)
