Idaho Lava

Who knew there was so much lava in Idaho? Or nuclear reactors? We didn’t. At least we knew about the potatoes.

The potato museum was a bust (not open) so we kept rolling to Craters of the Moon National Monument.  I don’t know why it’s a ‘monument’ and not a park, but it was an interesting place. We did a few hikes and Bode loved exploring the lava tubes. Then, camping in a lava field.

How fun. Hey Bode – How are those lava tubes formed? At what temperature?

Joe and I stopped at Craters of the Moon on our bike trip in 99 – I found it very weird as well. Lots of twisted trees from the sustained winds. Glad you are all doing well –
