Vedauwoo and Laramie
After another full day of driving around Ft. Collins and Loveland running errands, we finally crossed the border into Wyoming.
We took a little shortcut from Tie Siding over to the Vedauwoo campground. Dirt roads and a sideways snowstorm just to Wyoming-it-up a little.
The campground turned out to be an old bomb range that was technically closed for the season, had plenty of snow on the ground and wind that blew right through you. We camped. We froze. I don’t know why, but I had imagined putting up a hammock and relaxing for a few days. Clearly, this isn’t going to be like the Baja trip.
On our third day, we pulled into Laramie. Boulder to Laramie. 130 miles in 3 days. Our usual pace may not cut it if we’re going to make it to Alaska before next winter. And, we might even need to slow down since several roads still aren’t open due to this winter’s closures.
Damn that global warming anyway!
PS Try a Moose Drool while you are there.
That is beautiful country.
