Playa Las Palmas
There’s a semi-hidden beach that’s just a few kilometers south of town. After an unmarked turnoff from the highway, you go down a bumpy desert road to a hurricane damaged palm oasis.
After a short hike through the palms, you’ve got an undeveloped beach mostly to yourself. Boogie-boarding was the day’s after-school activity.
When we pulled up, there was another car in the parking area and a guy waving. “Hey, I know you! Remember me?!” Unfortunately, I didn’t recognize him without the uniform.
He was one of the Federales that we talked to back in Santa Rosalia immediately after we had our little accident on the drive down – 650 km away. Small world.
He was curious to know if any police stopped us on the way down because of our busted windshield with a big hole in it. Nope. “See, no problem!”
I was wondering when this would be featured on your blog. It was one of my favorite places during my stays in Todos and I was hoping it was still unmolested. I kept hearing rumors about development, so I’m glad they’re still just that – rumors.

I was waiting to hear if you would discover Playa Las Palmas. It is truly a gem! From your photos it appears pretty much the same after Hurricane Odile except for some downed palms which was to be expected.
This is our favorite beach in the whole area.
