Houston Rockets

One day we went to the hobby store and got a model rocket. It works by using a rocket engine to shoot it up in the air. When it runs out of fuel, a little explosion  shoots the nose cone off the rocket  (the rocket can split in half). Then a parachute comes out from the inside and it floats down.

A month later we went to pawpaw’s house. We decided to shoot it off. So we went to the field and set it up.  Then dad launched it. It went about 1000 feet in the air. It floated down into the forest across the street and we got lucky because it went between trees. Dad had to go across the street to get it.

Then we launched it a second time. This time I launched it. We didn’t get so lucky that time. It floated down into the ONLY tree in the field. That tree was right next to a church camp. We asked them to keep an eye on it for us. One week later we checked on it.  A guy took it home to make sure no one threw it away. One week later we checked again and they said they would go get it. We gave them a RC train we had in the closet we were trying to get rid of. And pretty much that’s what happened.
