Sexy Flexy
I traded in both of my solar panels.
I managed to sell them for a good price on Craigslist, and then immediately went out and bought another 100W on eBay directly from China.
FLEXIBLE.
Now, we have a single 5 lb thin contoured solar panel mounted to the fiberglass top that is essentially invisible from street level. Lightweight and easy to lift up when popping.
Did I mention sexy? Maybe it’s just me.
And this is totally weatherproof? Me thinks I may sell my rigid 100w for this beauty!
Yep. The cells are mounted on a 1 mm aluminum sheet, then laminated with a 1 mm plastic sheet. They claim you can walk on it.
we need a link to check it buy one thanks
there are lots of options on ebay, and they also seem to have the best prices:

I got this one:

Not a recommendation – just the one I chose. Check back in a few years to see how it held up.
Note: it may be more accurate to call this one ‘semi-rigid’ rather than ‘flexible’ It easily curves around the roof, but I wouldn’t bend it much further. It’s an aluminum sheet.
AAWW YEAAAH
thanks so much for providing the link!
This thing is amazing! We are in the process of getting a pop up camper installed on our honda element. so this looks like a neat solution for a solar panel.
🙂 thanks guys!
Exactly what in your camper does it power? We have a ’78 Westy and are looking to power it with solar. I’m hoping that we can some how set it up so the rear fuse box that works when we’re plugged into shore power will work. So that when we’re on the road or parked somewhere without city power we would have access to the 3 prong outlets for whatever we need. I already assume it would power the fridge through the second battery. Any instruction or advise would be helpful – we are so ignorant when it comes to the electrical stuff 🙂
