Easternmost
Olinda is another nice town. The whole city has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site, so that tells you something. Surprisingly, it still seems ‘undiscovered’. If you are interested in restoring an old crumbling colonial building, this might be your place.
We wandered the coast up past the appropriately-name Forte Orange – where the Dutch manged to have a foothold here for a while.
We made a few more stops to check out Praia Bela and Tambaba before stopping at Ponta Do Seixas – the Easternmost location in the Americas.
That’s where we’re camped. We’re now closer to Senegal than we are to Uruguay.
Is that a piece of bamboo that Jason is using to knock down the coconuts? The beaches are absolutely beautiful.
