Moving South… Quickly

The summer daylight hours are a real plus for us. Even though we had a late start out of Santiago, we were able to hit the road and still put some miles on the bus before dark.

The main North-South Highway didn’t give us much to look at during the drive. We made it to Salto Lajas,  a pretty impressive waterfall just off the highway. It is a tourist destination, for sure. Or maybe it’s just a nice place to break up the Santiago/Pucon drive. There are parking attendants, souvenir and snack shops all along the road. There’s even some unimpressive camping across the street. Being the weekend, the place was packed. We found a nice quiet campsite 3 km from the falls and decided to go back to see them the next morning without all the tourists.

Most importantly, after our 8 hour drive, there was no transmission fluid leaking.

wow.. el salto del laja is pretty nice… i was there a few years ago…
in case you didn’t knew… the word “laja” is the name of a stone.. and “salto” is the name of that kind of waterfall, like a small one.

    take care!
