El Valle

Save your gas money- this is what a drive through the Elqui Valley looks like.

This is touted as the #1 tourist draw in all of Chile’s ‘Norte Chico.’

It’s fine. Totally okay.

There´s desert, grapes, pisco distilleries and a few small towns with plenty of camping. That´s about it.

We can hook you up with bee-keeping on an avocado farm if you are looking for something more exciting.

What is the recipe for the drinks? And what is the stuff you are straining?

Mote con huesillo – water, dried peaches, sugar, cinnamon and cooked wheat. It’s a drink and a meal.

Getting the honey from the comb – the hard way.

And I thought the Mexican corn drink was “interesting”! I guess a little bees wax never hurt anyone.

    Thanks!

I really enjoy following your trip. Keep it up!
