Where are we again?

You might have noticed we really stretched out those jungle and pampas posts. That’s because once we got to Sucre we decided to stay a while. Besides, who doesn’t like monkey posts?

It took us a couple days to recover from the drive. We found a campsite, where we had to completely remove and clean everything in the bus. Most things had been flung from cabinets onto the floor anyway. Really, not very exciting stuff.

The campsite is good (though the owners keep trying to jack up the price).  We’ve also met up with 4 other overlanders – French, French, German and French.

And, we are really enjoying Beijing….err wait…

Can’t you distinguish Japanese from Chinese?

Seriously: I just bought a Japanese school bus, a little one, and a special one: a Toyota Hiace long wheel base, but wait – it has a 3-Liter-Turbo-Diesel engine, 2 air conditioners, and best of all: 4-wheel-drive, with transfer case and differentials from a Toyota Hilux (the pick-up truck which never breaks – so the ads are telling us).
Friends are coming to visit and travel Outback Australia – and no: that has not much to do with the steak houses in the States.

Enjoy your stay in Sucre – hasta luego!

I can’t. So, I asked. The answer was ‘de China’… not that I have ever reliably gotten the correct answer on any question I’ve asked on this trip.

The funny thing is they just put the key in and start driving them around town. They don’t even take off the window stickers.

Your bus sounds like a mean machine. The Hilux seems to be the choice for new trucks we see here in SA as well.

    When we’re done here, let’s trade vehicles/continents for a while 😉
