Bode Drives the Bus

We’re starting to wrap up our time in Texas and preparing to resume our trip in Ecuador. One of the things on my to-do list is to make backups of all our photos, documents, etc.

This is also a great excuse to browse through our collection of memories. There are quite a few. Even I’m a little impressed with how much we’ve done in the past year.

We’ve generally avoided taking any videos on the trip, but here is one time in Costa Rica that I’m glad we did. There isn’t much to it, but watching it just makes me smile.

Even nicer to finally have a voice to match up with Jason, Angela and Bode. 🙂

    Happy New Year!

That was just great! Once apon a time in the good ole USA every kid first learned to drive that way.

Jason, I don’t know why, but I didn’t imagine you with a Texas accent! I guess it’s because you started your drive in Alameda, CA.

I can remember being in Bode’s place when I was a boy “driving” our family’s then new 73(?) Kombi. My dad helped me make the turns then in Corpus Christi, TX just like you did with Bode in this video. You took me back to my own childhood with this! Thanks, and Happy New Year.

    I really don’t have a Texas accent… promise.

I heard that twang too and it’s an anomoly – I didn’t even have one growing up in Texas. I even debated posting the video for that reason only.

We had just spent the prior night with a bunch of ex-pat Texans in Costa Rica, so I must have picked it up there 😉

L.O.L. No Texan thinks he has a Texas accent. Of course I don’t have one! Watch out for ’em potholes, now!

    Hey guys,

What a thrill to get a card from you! I almost didn`t recognize Bode. He`s grown up so much!! Ms. Sarah and I no longer work at Kinder Huis, but we see one another all the time. I watch a little girl named Harper who is one and a half. She will have a new baby sister this June! I see Austin all of the time since he lives on the same street as Harper. Next time I see him I`ll let him know I`ve heard from you. Happy New Year..enjoy life 🙂
